(NewsNation) — Simona Steinbrecher is anxiously awaiting a breakthrough to bring home her daughter Doron, who is being held hostage in Gaza.

Steinbrecher went to Washington, D.C., to bring attention to her case. Israel reports Hamas is holding about 132 hostages as the war extends beyond 100 days.

During an interview on “NewsNation Now,” Steinbrecher shared details about her daughter, emphasizing Doron’s love for animals, family and the Maccabi Haifa football team in Israel.

Doron Steinbrecher, a 30-year-old veterinary nurse, was taken from her home, prompting a distressing call from her pleading for help.

A deal was reached Wednesday to deliver more aid to Gaza in exchange for getting medicine to hostages still held by Hamas.

Simona Steinbrecher acknowledged her daughter’s daily need for medicine but expressed uncertainty about its delivery.

“They say Israel will give the medicine to Hamas to give to the hostages, but I don’t know if it’ll get to her,” she said.

Steinbrecher pleaded for international attention and assistance, stressing the urgency of the situation.

“It’s been way too long. We hope for the best, and we still have hope,” she implored.
