LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Prom season is right around the corner and Project 150 is helping high school students show up in style – without breaking the bank.

The Las Vegas-based nonprofit is unveiling its annual Las Vegas Prom Closet, an initiative designed to provide students with free formal attire and accessories for their big night. The community-wide effort aims to ensure every student, regardless of financial means, has the opportunity to enjoy a memorable and magical prom experience.

“Prom is one of the most important events in a teenager’s life, a night where they can dress up, have fun, and celebrate their accomplishments,” says Kelli Kristo, Project 150 executive director.

“For many teenagers, it’s the first time they have an opportunity to feel like a glamorous movie star or rockstar. It’s a chance to let your personality shine through your outfit and makeup. This is the night to be whoever you want to be!”

This year, the Las Vegas Prom Closet will take place on Saturday, March 2, beginning at 9 a.m. Students must bring their student IDs to select prom attire and accessories.

Project 150 is currently accepting donations of new or like-new formal attire for high school students. Donations include men’s and women’s suits, dresses, gowns, shoes, jewelry, and other accessories. Drop-offs are welcome at both Project 150 locations, listed below, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. through Feb. 28.
