(NewsNation) — New reports allege the federal probe into Sean “Diddy” Combs could expand to include reinvestigating a 1999 shooting outside a New York City nightclub.

That’s according to the New York Post, which reported what’s currently known about the investigation is the tip of the iceberg. The outlet cited NewsNation’s interview with Natania Reuben, who told NewsNation exclusively that she would let investigators take bullet fragments from her face if it could prove Combs was the man who shot her 25 years ago.

“I’m willing to have a doctor remove a part of the 9 mm bullet in my face so that they can use it as evidence if need be for this trial,” Reuben said on NewsNation’s “Elizabeth Vargas Reports” last week.

Leah Gordone, founder of Black Girl News, recently produced a documentary about the shooting. She joined “Elizabeth Vargas Reports” on Monday, saying she was saddened for Reuben that it’s taken more than two decades for her account of that night to garner public interest.

“Everybody played a part,” Gordone said. “Even the media. They chose to only interview the celebrities in the case — even networks. They only did documentaries and interviews with the celebrities in the case. They did not care to listen to Natania Reuben at all for over 24 years.”

The news of a potentially wider investigation comes one week after Homeland Security raided Combs’ mansions in Los Angeles and Miami as part of an apparent sex trafficking investigation.

Combs currently faces five civil suits alleging assault and abuse. Many of the alleged victims say they were teens at the time.

Combs, however, has never been convicted of a felony and he wasn’t convicted in the 1999 club shooting, either.

He was charged but ultimately acquitted on two counts of criminal possession of an unregistered gun and attempted bribery.

The details of that night are now under the microscope with reports that the shooting could be investigated again.

Everyone in that room knows the truth,” Gordone said. “It’s going to take for them to be real and be honest in order for (Reuben) to see justice.”

Reuben says believes she’s also putting her life at risk by speaking out about Diddy.

“I live a simple, quiet, risk-averse life,” she said. “So if I should meet with an untimely demise, it would require a deep investigation. I understand the peril of what I’m exposing.”
