(NewsNation) —   Butler County, Ohio, Sheriff Richard K. Jones vowed to do everything he can to make sure Fermin Garcia-Gutierrez, a migrant illegally in the U.S. who has been charged with aggravated murder, won’t be deported again.

“He’s not gonna get deported this time. He’s gonna get a taste of good old USA prison in Ohio,” Jones told NewsNation’s “Morning in America.”

Jones said he’s been sounding the alarm for years about criminals his deputies arrest but who are then taken by federal authorities and removed from the U.S. Garcia-Gutierrez, he says, is the prime example.

“He prefers to be deported where he don’t have to face the music. He goes to court. Sometimes ICE gets him, sometimes they don’t get him. He sells drugs. He’s a terrible animal. He comes here. He killed somebody,” Jones said.

Jones isn’t talking about the details of the case, except to say the suspect and the victim knew each other. He says Garcia-Gutierrez is one of about one thousand migrants who are in the country illegally and who’ve gone through his jail in the past three years.
