SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The Cornell University student accused of posting anti-Semitic threats online pleaded guilty Wednesday, April 10, in Federal Court.
The 21-year-old junior has since been diagnosed with Autism, which his public defender offers as context to his mental state.
Dai was charged with Making a Threat Using Interstate Communications based on allegations he posted messages online calling for the deaths of Jewish people.
Dai admitted to posting the following threats:
- “gonna shoot up 104 West”
- Threatened to “stab” and “slit the throat” of Jewish males on campus
- Rape and throw off a cliff any Jewish females
- Behead Jewish babies
- “bring an assault rifle to campus and shoot all you pig jews”
Many plea deals come with agreed-to sentences, but not in federal court. His time in prison will be up to the judge.
Dai grew up in Pittsford, a suburb of Rochester.
