Officials believe the boat launched from Evanston and capsized around dusk. The boat was located about two to three miles from shore.

According to officials, the woman was on the boat with another woman, in her 50s, when the boat capsized. The two began swimming to shore but were separated due to wave conditions.

Officials said the other woman made it to shore at Tower Road Beach after swimming for approximately two miles. She notified authorities of the situation immediately upon making it to shore. She was transported to a local hospital in good condition.

A rescue mission was conducted by fire department and neighboring municipalities, along with the Coast Guard.
