TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – A Florida McDonald’s employee allegedly threw drinks at a customer who said their order was incorrect, chased them outside with a gun and shot at them on Friday, according to the Lakeland Police Department.
Police were called at about 1 a.m. after an argument between a customer and an employee resulted in shots being fired.
The customer in the drive-thru thought that their order was incorrect, which led to an argument with the employee, police said.
Surveillance video shows the employee, later identified as Chassidy Gardner, 22, at the window talking to the customer. She slams the window closed and walks away. She then reopens the window and throws a drink at the customers as they were pulling away, the video shows.
The customer opened the window from the outside and threw items from the counter, as Gardner allegedly re-entered the frame with a gun in hand. She walks up to the window and closes it again after appearing to yell something at the customer, who opened the window again and threw another drink.
Gardner allegedly went outside with the gun and shot at the customers as they were driving out of the parking lot, police said. The customer’s vehicle was hit at least once, but no injuries were reported.
Gardner was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
