Janel Forte is NewsNation’s Atlanta-based correspondent.
Most recently – she was a reporter at KHOU in Houston. While there, Forte was the go-to for large breaking stories for the station’s morning show. She was the first reporter on-air after the Santa Fe high school shooting – KHOU later earned an Edward R. Murrow Award for coverage of the tragedy. She also led coverage of the 2018 Austin serial bomber, the funerals for former President George H.W. Bush and first lady Barbara Bush, George Floyd’s death and the Vanessa Guillen case.
Prior to that – Forte was an Anchor/Reporter at WLOX in Biloxi, MS.
Forte is a proud alumna of Cornell University. She also holds a master’s degree from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.
