Xavier Walton

Xavier Walton joined NewsNation in the fall of 2022 and currently serves as a national correspondent based in Dallas, Texas.

Previously, he served as the network’s Miami-based correspondent where he covered stories, including local schoolbook restrictions, Project Dynamo which rescued 270 Americans from Israel, the kidnapping of a Florida couple in Haiti, and more.

Prior to NewsNation, Mr. Walton spent three years working as an anchor and reporter for KHOU-TV in Houston, Texas. During his tenure, he covered several major news events, including the mass shooting at Robb Elementary School, George Floyd’s Funeral, the Derek Chauvin Trial, and Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin rocket launches.

Before moving to Houston, Xavier spent time in Charlotte, NC, at WCNC-TV as an anchor and reporter. Prior to Charlotte, Xavier worked for KTWO-TV in Casper, WY. He was named ‘Reporter of the Year’ by the Wyoming Association of Broadcasters in 2013. He also took second place in Dancing with the Stars of Casper.

Xavier was born and raised in California. He attended California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, CA. He earned a degree in Communications with an emphasis in Journalism. While at CLU, he was the starting point guard of the Men’s Basketball Team. Go Kingsmen! He was also News Editor of the school newspaper, The Echo.
