SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — A 16-year-old boy was charged with premeditated first-degree murder, among other charges, after he forcefully entered a home and stabbed two victims, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials said the teen ordered the two weapons online on Thursday.

On Saturday night around 10:11 p.m., the teen walked nearly six miles to a 15-year-old boy’s home in Wildwood who was having a sleepover.

According to officials, the suspect arrived unannounced and “banged” on the door. When the 15-year-old answered, the suspect forced his way inside, stabbing the boy.

An adult in the home went to see what was happening and the suspect stabbed them, along with threatening a third victim.

Emergency personnel rendered aid to both stabbing victims at the home, who were then airlifted to nearby hospitals.

Deputies said the 15-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the hospital at 1:19 a.m. The 48-year-old adult victim is still receiving treatment in the ICU.

The motive of the attack is unknown.

Thanks to a sheriff’s office helicopter, the suspect, who had fled from the scene on foot, was arrested and taken to the Sumter County Jail. The teen is charged with premeditated first-degree murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill, and armed burglary.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 352-793-2621. To remain anonymous, contact Crimeline at 1-800-423-8477.
