(NewsNation) — The trial for Lindsay Shiver, the Georgia woman accused of being involved in a plot to kill her husband, that was supposed to start Monday has been delayed again, sources tell NewsNation.

Initially slated to begin in March, a Bahamian judge pushed the trial to July 1. Lindsay Shiver’s attorney’s office in the Bahamas told NewsNation that it will now be at a later date that has not yet been determined.

Police said Lindsay and Robert Shiver were in the middle of a bitter divorce when she allegedly asked two men to kill him while on vacation in the Bahamas. Police uncovered the plan between Lindsay Shiver, Terrance Bethel and his friend, Faron Newbold, during a break-in investigation on the island, according to Bahamas Court News.

WhatsApp messages on a phone belonging to one of the break-in suspects detailed a plan to kill Robert Shiver, including a message from Lindsay Shiver that said, “Kill him,” police said.

Lindsay Shiver was arrested in August 2023. The Times-Enterprise reported that she was released on $100,000 bail, and two men were released on a $20,000 bail over the summer on the condition that they wear an ankle monitor, check in at the local police department three times a week and keep a daily curfew.

If convicted, Shiver, Bethel, and Newbold Jr. could face 30 and 60 years behind bars.
