(NewsNation) — Felipe Henao, the brother of missing Florida woman Ana Maria Knezevich Henao, thanked NewsNation for its coverage of his sister.
“This is the beauty of news, and I’m eternally grateful for you,” Henao told NewsNation’s Chris Cuom on Wednesday. “You took on this case when no one else would hear us.”
Knezevich Henao, a Florida woman, disappeared in Spain three months ago after going to Madrid amid a divorce. Although she had planned to continue her trip to Barcelona with a friend, she never arrived at the train station. When Spanish authorities searched her apartment, they found no evidence of a robbery.
U.S. authorities recently arrested her estranged husband, David Knezevich, on kidnapping charges in connection to the disappearance of Knezevich Henao.
Courtney Caprio, the lawyer for Knezevich’s family, also weighed in on “CUOMO” and said they are very grateful for all the investigation that has gone on so far.
“The police work was astounding, and we are looking forward to getting justice for Ana,” Caprio said.
New court documents show investigators saying they have surveillance video of a man resembling David Knezevich buying spray paint and covering security cameras at Knezevich Henao’s apartment building the day she went missing.
David Knezevich maintains he wasn’t in Spain, but Serbia, when his wife disappeared. However, the documents allege he rented a car and drove from Serbia to Spain and back around the time his wife vanished.
