(NewsNation) — A video promoting Alexander Wang’s Ricco bag featured Beyonce, Kylie Jenner, Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift lookalikes.

The video, which the designer posted to Instagram last week, bears the tongue-in-cheek caption, “100% certified authentic.”

One commenter called the video “diabolical,” while another asked if the designer was trying to market the bags as “cheap knockoffs.”

The smallest version of the bag sells for $850.

“I love a lot of the alexander wang designs but this is a lazy and messed up ad,” one commenter wrote. “It also makes the product look chea(p) and not aspirational. Do better.”

The lookalike influencers have followings of their own, and it’s not the first time advertisers have used impersonators.

Grande sued Forever 21 for $10 million in 2019, arguing the company used her name and likeness in its advertising.
