(NewsNation) — The Royal Bahamas Police Force have allocated search efforts to the waters as they continue to look for 41-year-old Chicagoan Taylor Casey.

Casey’s not been seen since the evening of June 19 when she disappeared during a yoga retreat in the Bahamas.

Her disappearance was first noted at the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat, where she was staying, after she failed to attend classes the next morning.

How are police investigating?

The luxurious retreat, located five miles from Nassau, is now the scene of a police search.

Efforts to locate Casey intensified Thursday with K-9s joining the search with authorities hoping to locate the scent of the yoga enthusiast.

Owing to the vast, remote nature of the retreat, local police began to use drone technology to scour for any signs on the western end of Paradise Island.

Divers have also taken to the water as police look to carry forth the investigation on a variety of fronts.

Where are Taylor Casey’s family?

Casey’s family – including her mother, Collette Seymore – arrived in The Bahamas on Wednesday – six days on from the last time she was seen.

Traysia Conard, Casey’s niece, joined “NewsNation Live” Wednesday and remarked what “a sweet lady” her auntie was.

“She takes trips all the time,” Conard said. “This was an out of the ordinary.”

Conard said she last saw Casey’s phone ping in the water. She was the only family member to have Casey’s location on the Find My iPhone app. This has not yet been confirmed by police.

Earlier this week, Seymore said in a statement that she believes her daughter is in danger.

“We are deeply concerned for Taylor’s safety and well-being,” Seymore said. “We love Taylor and want her home.”

Why was Taylor Casey in The Bahamas?

The 41-year-old was visiting Paradise Island as part of her interest in yoga. Casey had taken the trip in order to acquire additional certification.

Casey traveled from her native Chicago, and prior to her disappearance had been sending family photos of herself on the beach.

Then, all of a sudden, she just vanished.

Those with information can contact the Royal Bahamas Police Force’s Criminal Investigations Department at 502-9991/2 or Crime Stoppers at 328-8477.
