CHICAGO (NewsNation) – The Democratic National Convention is enabling social media content creators to apply for credentials for the first time in its history, according to a Friday news release.
The convention will be giving creators full access to the event and creative freedom to share their experiences with their audience. Creators will also be allowed to connect directly with surrogates and VIP attendees.
Cayana Mackey-Nance, the Director of Digital Strategy for the convention committee said that content creators play a critical role in how the American people view this election cycle.
“We are leveling the playing field between content creators and traditional media, and ensuring that more Americans than ever before are able to experience and engage with this critical part of our Democratic process,” Mackey-Nance said in the release.
The four-day Democratic National Convention will be held in Chicago Aug. 19 to Aug. 22.
