(NewsNation) — The Pentagon has released a report saying there is no evidence of aliens or any cover-up of UFOs or aliens. However, not everyone is convinced by the explanation, including NewsNation special correspondent Ross Coulthart, who broke the initial story with whistleblower David Grusch.

“I don’t think anybody’s surprised that the Pentagon is making an announcement like this,” Coulthart told NewsNation.

Coulthart said he has spoken to multiple people, including some inside the alleged secret UFO retrieval program, who aren’t buying what he calls a “feeble” attempt at a cover-up.

“We know for a fact that the inspector general of the intelligence community, that is the oversight body for the intelligence community, separately from the Pentagon, has made a determination that David Grusch’s complaints are credible and urgent,” Coulthart said.

Coulthart said Dr. Sean Kirkpatrick, the report’s author, had a preconceived agenda going into the investigation and said he has spoken to members of a special secret advisory committee. Coulthart calls those people the gatekeepers for the secret program.

Coulthart pointed out that people who occupy or have occupied high-level roles in government have said reports of a secret program are true, despite what the Pentagon has said.

He also said the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office, or AARO, the office investigating UFO reports, did not have the authority to do a deep investigation and find the information that would have confirmed Grusch’s claims.

“Even the aerospace bosses who claim in the report that they’ve got no knowledge of extraterrestrial technology or a reverse engineering program, they haven’t formally been put under oath and asked to testify under the oath that would make them commit perjury if they were lying,” Coulthart said.
