EL PASO, Texas (NewsNation) — Three people were pulled from a train in an El Paso rail yard earlier this week by evading X-ray scanners frequently used by border officials.

Photos obtained exclusively by NewsNation show no one inside the train, despite three people being inside.

Officials say “coils” were wrapped around the individuals which prevented them from being seen by authorities. Eventually, however, they became trapped and called 911 for help.

Customs and Border Patrol officials used a crane and ladder to rescue the three from the train.

One of those individuals, according to NewsNation sources, was a man from the African country of Eritrea who provided false documents.
