Private dive team comes to Colorado to search for missing mom Suzanne Morphew

CHAFFEE COUNTY, Colo. (NewsNation Now) — A private dive team is joining the search outside of Denver for a Colorado wife and mother of two after she was reported missing on Mother’s Day.

Suzanne Morphew, 49, was reported missing on May 10, 2020 after she allegedly disappeared from her Chaffee County home.

Deputies said they spoke with a neighbor who said 49-year-old Morphew had reportedly gone for a bike ride in the Maysville area and didn’t return home.

A private dive team will be in Colorado to search bodies of water between Salida and Denver.

Jared Leisek and his team from “Adventures with Purpose” specializes in water recovery. The “Adventures with Purpose” team travels across the country, diving and recording video. They have recovered hundreds of cars, guns and boats. This week the team found the body and car of a missing person in Iowa.

Morphew’s husband spoke exclusively with NewsNation affiliate KXRM, in August and theorized what may have happened to his wife. He mentioned the possibility of an animal attack, an accident with someone on the road, or even, he said, a run-in with someone who knows her well.

Her brother, Andrew Moorman, has organized searches for Morphew since she went missing.

“Yesterday we ran into him as we cross that mountain top of where we found the evidence and he was out hanging trail cams and he had a shotgun on his shoulder and warned us not to go any further because we were about to enter private property. And to answer your question, no, he’s not involved in the search,” said Moorman in September.

Moorman says he believes Barry Morphew is not doing enough to help.

“He’s not cooperating enough with police. He should have done a voice analysis with a detective right off the bat and some of his behavior since then have been quite strange,” shared Moorman.
