WASHINGTON (NewsNation Now) — White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany held a news briefing at the White House Thursday to address mail-in voting and extend condolences to the family of Breonna Taylor.
“The president will accept the results of a free and fair election,” she said. “He will accept the will of the American people.”
McEnany alluded that President Trump would accept the results of the election if he loses, while speaking against the use of voting by mail-in ballot. She justified her claim by citing recent incidents where mail was found in a ditch in Wisconsin.
“The president wants to get rid of mass mail-out voting. He said that can damage either candidate’s chances because it is a system subject to fraud,” said McEnany. “In fact, within the last 24 hours police in Greenville, Wisconsin found mail in a ditch and it included absentee ballots. Also, I can confirm with you that Trump ballots, ballots for the president, were found in Pennsylvania.”
McEnany said she’s not aware of any conversation between Trump and the family of Breonna Taylor but that their hearts go out to her family. She said what happened is “a horrible tragedy” and that their hearts are also with the two Louisville police officers who were shot Wednesday night during protests.
